Running Chip Timing Services

Whether you're a running club which handles small local running races or a professional timer who handles medium to large size events with thousands of competitors, You may be wanting a finish time you may want finish times and chip times you may even want various split timings for mid race timing points, our timing systems can cater for a few hundred or a few thousand competitors giving instant results to all competitors as they cross the finish line.

We have 2 Methods of providing results for running races depending on courses and design constraints:

Gun Time

It's the official race time and is the time that the runner takes to complete the course from the time the gun was fired these are the official results used for finish positions. Of course if you take say thirty seconds to cross the line this additional time is part of your race time.

Chip Time

This is the time that the runner actually takes from the time they crossed the start line (even if they took thirty seconds to do so from went the gun was fired) to the time they crossed the finish line. However, this time has no relevance to the results whatsoever and is used for competitor information purposes only.

Please note that the chip time is not always available, should your start line be on a public road where it is not safe to have timing equipment or the course layout makes it impracticle to use then we will only be able to supply finish times.

• Split Times - you may want a 10k time for a Half Marathon race, we supply readers for the remote locations to capture each competitors 5k, 10k split times etc. (Additional fee for this service)

All our race timing now comes with live online race feeds giving you the ability to keep the public and distant relatives upto date with all things happening in realtime at the event.

Using this in conjunction with our live commentator system allows you to give precise and updated information on all aspects of the event:

How does Chip Timing work?

Timing Chips

Each runner is allocated a timing chip that is worn on the front of the trainer these can be sent out in the post a few weeks before the event start. When the runner crosses the start line the time is taken in our software, as soon as the runner crosses the finish line then the time is taken again using our software.

Timing Mats

We place timing mats at key points within the race that capture the times as competitors run across the mats, collectively these times are fed into our race HQ and formulated by our specialist software.

Results

All results can be viewed in real time whilst the event is taking place, competitors family and friends can view exact split timings by visiting the results station, generally located near the finish. We have a large LCD T.V. allowing competitors to enter there race number and see full results in real time on the T.V. Screen.

We also supply a small printer allowing competitors to print out there results and take them away.

All results will be available online a few hours after the event where competitors can search times and even print out professional event certificates.

Shoe Tags & How to Wear Them

The shoe tag has been designed to be as comfortable as possible being placed on the front of the foot and tied using your exsisting shoe laces, they are light weight and you will hardly notice them on your trainer.
